Liam Llewellyn

Student Employee

Liam is an undergraduate research assistant and conducts research on vulnerability to high-impact weather events at the Cooperative Institute for Severe and High-Impact Weather Research and Operations (CIWRO), in partnership with the University of Oklahoma’s Center for Spatial Analysis (CSA). At CIWRO/CSA, he researches social inequities using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to analyze U.S. Census data and pre-existing social vulnerability indices to assist the efforts of the Automated Translation Team at the National Weather Service (NWS) Headquarters. Outside of this research, Liam assists field projects for the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) as a student. His other professional interests are fieldwork logistics, project management and mobile observation systems. Liam is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Geographic Information Science and Meteorology minor at the University of Oklahoma and is expected to graduate in 2024.
