Brian Matilla

Research Associate

My current research involves?developing and enhancing the capabilities of the NSSL Warn-on-Forecast system. My main focus is on developing novel post-processing techniques to analyze data from the Warn-on-Forecast system during the NSSL Spring Forecasting Experiment and experiments pertaining to summer rainfall events. I am also actively working on developing methods to ingest data from the Geostationary Lightning Mapper for use within WoFS. Before arriving at CIWRO, my previous research involved understanding the dynamics and thermodynamics of convective systems leading to extreme precipitation accumulations.
