Dana Tobin

Peter Lamb Postdoctoral Fellow

Dana’s research is at the intersection (pun intended) of winter precipitation and motor vehicle impacts. Her M.S. and Ph.D. work focused on the identification and polarimetric radar signatures of winter precipitation types, with emphasis on ice pellet formation and detection. As part of her dissertation, she also investigated the role of precipitation type on vehicle-related fatalities and crash risk. Her postdoctoral work is a continuation of the impacts side of winter weather, where she is currently researching prevalent weather conditions leading up to fatal wintertime crashes.
