Charles Kuster
Research Associate
As a research associate, Charles works with weather radar data, specifically radars that have volumetric update times of two minutes or less. This rapid-scan radar data is being used to investigate signatures within severe thunderstorms—such as ZDR columns and downburst precursor signatures—that might be useful to National Weather Service forecasters. Collaborative research is also being conducted with emergency managers in Oklahoma to determine what new radar-based products and technology might be most beneficial to the public safety community.
