Andrew Osborne

Research Associate

As a research associate within the Multi-Radar Multi-Sensor (MRMS) group, my main responsibilities include evaluation of existing Quantitative Precipitation Estimation (QPE) products and development of a new multi-sensor QPE product within MRMS. The multi-sensor approach aims to optimally combine radar, satellite, and model precipitation fields into a single merged product. Additional research areas include short-term Quantitative Precipitation Forecasting (QPF) via radar extrapolation and automated cloud detection using the WSR-88D radar network.
